Christina Farr

Chrissy earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Certified Nurse Midwife from the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 2023. Her educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emporia State University in 2013. She furthered her expertise by becoming an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2019.

Bringing over a decade of diverse healthcare experience, Chrissy Farr has played integral roles in various medical settings. Her journey began as a medical-surgical nurse at Newman Regional Health, where she honed her skills before transitioning to the Labor and Delivery unit. Chrissy spent a significant portion of her career at the Women’s Life Center at Newman Regional Health, dedicating ten years to delivering exceptional care to women during crucial life moments. In a quest for broader experiences, she also worked on the Labor and Delivery unit at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City. During her academic pursuits, Chrissy immersed herself in clinical rotations, shadowing midwives in Topeka and Warrensburg, Missouri, to further enrich her expertise in women's health.

Originally from Norfolk, Nebraska, Chrissy has been an integral part of the Emporia community since 2001. She is passionate about women's health, providing comprehensive services such as pap smears, STI/STD testing, menopause management, and antepartum care. Additionally, Chrissy is well-versed in family planning, including prescribing birth control, IUD placement, and Nexplanon administration.

Beyond her dedication to women's health, Chrissy Farr is a woman of diverse interests and passions. As a committed advocate for fostering healthier communities, she finds joy in sharing her knowledge on the significance of self-care and holistic well-being. Outside of the healthcare realm, Chrissy channels her creativity into the art of sewing, crafting beautiful quilts for her children, nephews, nieces, and close friends. Additionally, she has ventured into the world of baking, experimenting with sourdough bread and exploring the intricate process of creating a perfect sourdough starter. Chrissy's zest for life extends to her love of travel, particularly to warm destinations with picturesque bodies of water, and her dream destinations include Costa Rica, Fiji, Jamaica, Australia, and Italy. Her affinity for Scotland, inspired by the Outlander series, adds a touch of literary wanderlust to her travel aspirations.
