The Friends of CareArc are proud to announce Marley Heins of Olpe as the esteemed recipient of this year's $1,000 Arlene Eichorn Scholarship. A current student at Emporia State University's Department of Nursing, Marley has been recognized for her exceptional academic achievements, her active participation in school and community activities, and her unwavering dedication to the field of nursing.
Marley's selection for the scholarship comes as no surprise to those who have witnessed her hard work and commitment first-hand. As described by Shelby True, Assistant Professor for Emporia State University Nursing, "Marley embodies the qualities of an outstanding nursing student—hard-working, dedicated, professional, and an excellent communicator. Her commitment to academic excellence and her aspiration to become an excellent nurse are evident in everything she does."
Scheduled to graduate in December 2024, Marley is already making significant contributions to her community. Not only is she excelling in her studies, but she is also serving as a Nurse Technician at Newman Regional Health and engaging in numerous community service activities in the Olpe and Emporia area. Her dedication to healthcare and her local community exemplifies the spirit and purpose of the Arlene Eichorn Scholarship.
The Friends of CareArc annually award the Arlene Eichorn Scholarship to an outstanding local student pursuing a career in healthcare. The scholarship, named in honor of the beloved former employee of the Flint Hills Community Health Center, Arlene Eichorn, supports students in various medical ancillary majors, including Licensed Practical Nursing and Dental Hygiene.
In addition to supporting local students, the Friends of CareArc contribute to the organization with yearly monetary gifts and help keep the public informed about the programs and efforts of the Health Center.
Marley's recognition as this year's scholarship recipient highlights her potential to make a significant impact on the lives of many as a future Registered Nurse. Her academic prowess, combined with her compassionate nature and dedication to healthcare, make her an exemplary choice for this honor.
